04/05/23: Notice to Breckenridge Residents: Now is the time to get prepared.
The current extended weather forecast is showing a significant warming trend for next week. Most of us will notice that our sump pumps will begin to run much more frequent. That said, it is imperative that all sump pump discharge get converted out of the sanitary sewer (ASAP) and to the outdoors. **Refer to Breckenridge Public Utilities UPDATED Sump Pump Policy HERE
The City of Breckenridge recommends all residents that have full basements or homes that have been prone to sewer backup in the past, to plug your basement floor drains as a preventative measure to alleviate possible sewer backup into your basement.
Additionally, if you have a shower/tub drain or toilet in the basement, you will also want to have plugs and a plan for those drains as well.
Now is the time to get prepared.
If you have any questions, contact Breckenridge Public Utilities at (218)643-4681.
